Rooms were clean and didn’t smell like cigarettes and regret. I had an issue with stinky repairs next door and when I asked the front desk to change rooms I was moved to a sweet room with a gulf view and a hot tub!! We were there for a work meeting and the casino catering was fresh and good. The drinks were strong.

From what I experienced here, the customer service is on point. Extremely friendly staff at check-in who welcomed me for a first time visitor and explained where everything was. The cage staff was also extremely friendly, that could be because I was in the elite line, however my experience was top-notch to say the least. The rooms are nice, you can tell the hotel's been here for a little while however the balcony has chairs compared to some of the other Golden Nugget experiences that are absent that amenity. The machines here are above average in my opinion in regards to RTP however they are tight just not as tight as Vegas. One of the biggest pros to any Golden Nugget experience is going to be your comp dollar conversion and slot dollars, just in a few hours I earned over a hundred in comp balance which more than paid for dinner so no one can really complain about that. I was even fortunate enough to have a host introduce themselves while playing and being an elite member with my home casino in a different state and having never met my host a single time this to me spoke volumes to the level of customer service at this hotel. This is probably the third time I played here and for a host to go out of their way to introduce themselves and offer a card with their information is shocking. The only downsides to this casino are going to be that it is rather small so getting on a machine can be difficult if you come later in the night so please keep that in mind if you're coming here. For the elite card holders you will find the facility has an elite parking section however as I was informed, it is not for all elite card members, it is something that has to be approved by the director of this facility and therefore you will probably not be able to use it. Out of five stars I would give this place a solid 4.5, let's face it no place is perfect however the staff here have really impressed me and that should be applauded as most of my reviews have rarely used that term when writing them. If the GM of this facility reads this, keep up the good work.

Love playing the three card. Get some pretty good runs there in good hands that have a lot of values to pay. They pay better than other casinos in the area locking a test too. I've been going there since hurricane George back in the '80s. This casino is the old Olive Capri. Everybody's fantastic bartenders servers dealers really enjoy it. I just wish the gold nugget at lake Charles was such as well I would book here stay here and play and if you were at another casino definitely stop in and come and enjoy what they have. Me personally I raced real bad horses on a high level and when I get a chance to stop in and play with some folks like this it's just absolutely a great place to be kind of get away from that stuff to enjoy as a professional gambler and a horseman, novice players or locals really should play at the Golden Nugget. Nothing but good stuff and my five-star rating is clearly in line for the gold nugget §

This hotel is decent but falls short of a true 4-star experience. The check-in process is confusing—the sign directs you to the casino, but the actual front desk is located on the 2nd floor. At check-in, we were informed that daily room service is not available, and there’s no option to request it. If you need fresh towels, you have to go get them yourself. Additionally, when one person in our group forgot their toothbrush, we were told the hotel doesn’t provide such basic amenities. Parking is another hassle—there’s no valet service, and the hotel parking deck is poorly marked and confusing, with no guidance from the front desk or luggage carts available. The pool, hot tub, and spa were all closed during our stay (the spa was set to reopen over the weekend, but it’s unclear how long the pool and hot tub will remain closed). The rooms are also lacking in comfort and convenience. The beds only have sheets—no comforter or blanket—and there’s no fridge. As for dining, there’s no breakfast option except for Starbucks. On the positive side, the gym is well-equipped, and the casino is enjoyable. Overall, the hotel has some good features but misses the mark on several key expectations for a 4-star stay.

On our first arrival, we were told that there’s no valet parking. So we had to unload our luggage and park ourselves. Then began the search for lobby… Yes!! The lobby is on second floor, and there’s no markings to indicate that. We booked into a suite- room was clean but definitely not a suite!! Just a normal large room. No room service/ housekeeping unless until after 3 nights of stay - well, whaattttt??? No breakfast options except Starbucks!! Small pool. Was heated… so will not complain. Casino is pretty ordinary. We felt it was quite dimly lit and smoky/ musty. Location- beach is quite far. So have to take car.
